Description

Enjoy a refreshing and healthy snack with these vibrant Watermelon Fries paired with a creamy vanilla yogurt dip sweetened with honey and fresh strawberries. Perfect for hot summer days or a light appetizer, these watermelon fries offer a fun, crunchy texture contrasted by a smooth, fruity dip.

Ingredients

Watermelon Fries

  • 1 Half of a Large Watermelon

Vanilla Yogurt Dip

  • ½ cup Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1 cup Strawberries, stems and leaves removed
  • 1 tablespoon Honey

Instructions

  1. Slice the Watermelon: Cut the watermelon in half and slice each half into round discs about ½ inch thick, preparing the base for your fries.
  2. Cut Semi-Circles: Cut across the middle of each disc to create two semi-circle shaped halves, making it easier to cut fries.
  3. Cut Watermelon Fries: Using a crinkle cutter, cut from one side of each watermelon semi-circle to the other to form crinkle-cut fries.
  4. Remove Excess Rind: Trim off any leftover rind from the fries and dispose of or compost it accordingly.
  5. Prepare the Yogurt Dip: Place the vanilla yogurt, hulled strawberries, and honey into a blender.
  6. Blend the Dip: Blend on low speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring the strawberries are fully incorporated.
  7. Adjust Sweetness: Taste the dip and add more honey if necessary to reach your desired sweetness.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, substitute the vanilla yogurt with a plant-based yogurt alternative.
  • Use a crinkle cutter for a fun texture, or a regular knife if unavailable.
  • Serve immediately for the best freshness and crisp texture of the watermelon fries.
  • Try experimenting with other berries or adding a mint garnish to the dip for extra flavor.
