Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups Minute Rice, uncooked
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef: In a large skillet, cook and crumble 1 pound of ground beef over medium heat until fully browned. Drain any excess grease to keep the dish from being too oily.
- Add seasoning and water: Stir in 1 packet of taco seasoning and 2 cups water. Mix thoroughly to combine and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Cook the rice: Reduce the heat to low, add 2 cups of uncooked Minute Rice to the skillet, and stir well. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for about 5 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
- Add salsa and cheese: Remove the lid, stir in 1 cup of salsa and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese until the cheese is melted and the salsa is evenly distributed.
- Serve: Turn off the heat and serve immediately for a warm, flavorful meal.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content.
- Minute Rice cooks quickly, so keep an eye on the rice to avoid overcooking.
- Feel free to add chopped onions, bell peppers, or jalapeños for extra flavor and texture.
- If you prefer, substitute cheddar cheese with a Mexican cheese blend for variety.
- Serve with sour cream, avocado, or fresh cilantro for added freshness.
