Description

Snickers Salad is a delightful and indulgent dessert salad combining creamy vanilla pudding, whipped topping, crisp Granny Smith apples, and chopped Snickers bars, all drizzled with optional caramel sauce for extra sweetness. This quick and easy no-bake recipe is perfect for potlucks, parties, or a fun family treat.

Ingredients

Dairy & Pudding

  • 3.4 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip (or 1 cup heavy whipping cream, beaten to stiff peaks)

Fruits

  • 6 Granny Smith apples (5 chopped, 1 reserved for garnish)

Snickers

  • 6 full-size Snickers bars (5 chopped, 1 reserved for garnish)

Extras

  • ¼ cup caramel sauce (optional)
  • Lemon juice or 7-Up for tossing apples if making ahead (quantity as needed)

Instructions

  1. Make pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and whole milk until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  2. Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold in the Cool Whip or whipped heavy cream to create a light and fluffy pudding base.
  3. Prep apples: Core and chop 5 of the Granny Smith apples into bite-sized pieces. If preparing the salad in advance, toss the apples with a small amount of lemon juice or 7-Up to prevent browning. Pat them dry before adding to the salad.
  4. Prep Snickers: Chop 5 full-size Snickers bars into bite-sized pieces, setting aside one bar for garnish.
  5. Combine apples and Snickers: Fold the chopped apples and Snickers pieces into the pudding mixture until evenly distributed.
  6. Chill salad: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld and the pudding to set.
  7. Add caramel and garnish: Just before serving, slice the reserved apple and chop the reserved Snickers bar. Arrange them on top of the salad and drizzle with caramel sauce, if desired, for a beautiful and tasty presentation. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For best texture, prepare the salad as close to serving time as possible to avoid soggy apples.
  • If preparing ahead, tossing apples in lemon juice or 7-Up will help prevent browning.
  • Can substitute Cool Whip with freshly whipped heavy cream for a more homemade taste.
  • Caramel sauce is optional but adds an extra layer of sweetness and richness.
  • This salad is best served chilled.
