Description
Smash Chicken Caesar Tacos combine crispy smashed chicken patties with creamy Caesar salad in warm tortillas for a flavorful, satisfying twist on traditional tacos.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 2 cups romaine lettuce, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/4 cup fresh Parmesan cheese, shaved or grated
- 1/4 cup crushed croutons (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Season ground chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Divide into 8 equal portions and flatten into thin patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil. Place chicken patties in the skillet and press down with a spatula to smash.
- Cook without moving for 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip and cook until fully cooked through.
- While chicken cooks, toss chopped romaine with Caesar dressing in a bowl.
- Warm tortillas on a dry skillet or over low flame until soft and slightly charred.
- Assemble tacos by placing a smashed chicken patty on each tortilla, topping with Caesar slaw, Parmesan, and crushed croutons (if using).
- Serve immediately with a squeeze of fresh lemon on top.
Notes
- Don’t over-handle the chicken when forming patties to prevent them from falling apart.
- Use a thick, garlicky Caesar dressing for bold flavor.
- Store leftover chicken patties separately to maintain crispiness.
- Add avocado for an indulgent variation.
- Assemble tacos just before serving for best texture.
