Description
A delicious and easy way to transform your leftover spaghetti into a comforting baked casserole. This Leftover Spaghetti Bake combines your favorite spaghetti with a flavorful blend of Italian seasoning, eggs, and cheeses, baked until bubbly and golden on top.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- Leftover spaghetti with sauce – enough to fill a 9×13 inch baking dish
- 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 2 Tbsp butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking and help with even cooking.
- Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the leftover spaghetti with sauce, Italian seasoning, beaten eggs, melted butter, and grated Parmesan. Stir until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the mixture is evenly coated.
- Bake covered: Spread the spaghetti mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil to lock in moisture and bake for 30 minutes.
- Add cheddar cheese and finish baking: Carefully remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and lightly browned.
Notes
- Using cold leftover spaghetti can make it easier to mix and layer evenly.
- If your spaghetti is dry, add a splash of pasta sauce or a little water before mixing to keep the bake moist.
- You can customize the cheese blend; mozzarella or a Mexican cheese blend also works well.
- To add protein, consider mixing in cooked sausage, ground beef, or sautéed vegetables.
- Let the bake rest for about 5 minutes before serving to allow it to set and make slicing cleaner.
