Description

This Chicken Avocado Wrap is a quick and delicious meal perfect for lunch or a light dinner. Featuring tender cooked chicken breast, creamy ripe avocado, fresh shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese, all wrapped in warm flour tortillas and drizzled with tangy ranch dressing. Ready in just 10 minutes, it’s an easy, flavorful, and satisfying option that’s both nutritious and convenient.

Ingredients

Fillings

  • Cooked chicken breast (sliced or shredded) – 1 cup
  • Ripe avocado (sliced) – 1 medium
  • Shredded lettuce – 1 cup
  • Diced tomatoes – 1/2 cup
  • Shredded cheddar cheese – 1/2 cup
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other

  • Flour tortillas – 2 large
  • Ranch dressing (or your favorite dressing) – 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Cook and slice or shred the chicken breast. Slice the avocado and remove the pit. Dice the tomatoes. Shred the lettuce if needed to make sure all ingredients are ready for assembly.
  2. Warm Tortillas: Place the flour tortillas on a microwave-safe plate and microwave them for about 10-15 seconds to make them pliable and easier to wrap.
  3. Assemble Wraps: Lay the warm tortillas flat on a clean surface. Add a layer of shredded lettuce on each tortilla, leaving some edge space. Place the cooked chicken slices or shredded chicken on top of the lettuce. Arrange the avocado slices on top of the chicken. Sprinkle diced tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the avocado.
  4. Season and Dress: Season the filling with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle ranch dressing or your preferred dressing over all the filling ingredients to enhance flavor.
  5. Wrap Up: Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then starting from the bottom edge, tightly roll the tortilla into a wrap to enclose the filling completely and secure everything inside.
  6. Serve: Place the wraps seam-side down on a serving plate to keep them closed. Optionally, slice each wrap in half diagonally for easier handling and presentation before serving.

Notes

  • Use cooked chicken from leftovers or rotisserie chicken to reduce prep time.
  • For a healthier twist, opt for whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas.
  • Substitute ranch dressing with Greek yogurt mixed with herbs for a lighter option.
  • To prevent avocado from browning, drizzle with a little lemon or lime juice before assembling.
  • Wraps are best served immediately but can be wrapped tightly in foil and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
