Description

Tender steak pieces are tossed in a bold Cajun seasoning, seared to perfection, and finished in a rich garlic butter sauce for a mouthwatering dish that’s perfect as a quick dinner or an indulgent appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (or less, to taste)
  • ½ tsp packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp dried thyme
  • 1 ½ lbs steak (strip, sirloin, ribeye, etc.)
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
  • Minced fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice steak into approximately 2-inch pieces. In a small bowl, mix the Cajun seasoning spices and toss the steak pieces in the blend until well coated.
  2. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat until it is smoking hot.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and half of the steak bites without overcrowding the pan. Sear for 2 minutes, flip, and sear for another 2 minutes until browned. Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining steak and oil.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter to the skillet; once melted, stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, scraping up browned bits from the bottom.
  5. Turn off the heat, return the steak to the skillet, and toss to coat the bites evenly in garlic butter. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use store-bought Cajun seasoning to save time.
  • Adjust garlic amount to taste.
  • Parsley garnish is optional but adds freshness.
  • Control heat level by adjusting cayenne or adding red pepper flakes.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 4–5 days.
  • To reheat, warm gently on the stovetop with a little butter or microwave.
