Description
Tender steak pieces are tossed in a bold Cajun seasoning, seared to perfection, and finished in a rich garlic butter sauce for a mouthwatering dish that’s perfect as a quick dinner or an indulgent appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 ½ tsp kosher salt
- 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (or less, to taste)
- ½ tsp packed light brown sugar
- ¼ tsp dried thyme
- 1 ½ lbs steak (strip, sirloin, ribeye, etc.)
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil, divided
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
- Minced fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Slice steak into approximately 2-inch pieces. In a small bowl, mix the Cajun seasoning spices and toss the steak pieces in the blend until well coated.
- Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat until it is smoking hot.
- Add 1 tablespoon of oil and half of the steak bites without overcrowding the pan. Sear for 2 minutes, flip, and sear for another 2 minutes until browned. Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining steak and oil.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter to the skillet; once melted, stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, scraping up browned bits from the bottom.
- Turn off the heat, return the steak to the skillet, and toss to coat the bites evenly in garlic butter. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use store-bought Cajun seasoning to save time.
- Adjust garlic amount to taste.
- Parsley garnish is optional but adds freshness.
- Control heat level by adjusting cayenne or adding red pepper flakes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 4–5 days.
- To reheat, warm gently on the stovetop with a little butter or microwave.
