Description

These Burger Bowls with House Sauce and Ranch Fries are a deconstructed burger experience loaded with juicy seasoned ground beef, crispy ranch-coated waffle fries, fresh toppings, and a creamy house sauce. Ready in just 30 minutes, this easy stovetop and oven recipe delivers all the flavors of a classic burger and fries in a bowl, perfect for a casual family meal or weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Burger and Toppings

  • 1 lb. ground beef (85/15 for the juiciest)
  • 2 teaspoons burger seasoning (one teaspoon per side)
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced burger pickles

Ranch Fries

  • 1 22-ounce bag frozen waffle fries
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1-ounce packet ranch seasoning mix (or 3 tablespoons)

House Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 clove grated garlic

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ranch Fries: Bake the frozen waffle fries according to the package directions. Once baked, add the butter to the sheet pan and toss the fries so the butter melts and coats them, making the fries juicy. Immediately toss the buttery fries with the ranch seasoning mix, adjusting the amount based on your preference for ranch flavor.
  2. Make the House Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and grated garlic until well combined. Taste and season with salt as needed. Alternatively, you can use a store-bought burger sauce if preferred.
  3. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a well-seasoned cast iron skillet over high heat without oil to achieve a very hot surface. Season one side of the ground beef with one teaspoon of burger seasoning. Place the beef in the hot pan, seasoned side down, and leave it undisturbed for several minutes to develop a flavorful browned crust as the fat renders.
  4. Finish Cooking Beef: Sprinkle the remaining teaspoon of burger seasoning on the exposed side. After a few minutes, flip the beef and break it up into fork-sized chunks, ensuring it stays juicy while browning evenly. Cook until well browned, then remove from heat.
  5. Assemble the Bowls: In serving bowls, distribute the juicy browned beef crumbles, top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and diced pickles. Add a generous portion of ranch fries on the side and drizzle with the house sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious combination of textures and flavors.

Notes

  • Using a well-seasoned cast iron skillet ensures excellent searing without the need for added oil.
  • Adjust the ranch seasoning quantity on fries according to your preferred intensity of flavor.
  • Ground beef with 85/15 fat content yields the best juiciness and flavor for this recipe.
  • Feel free to add other burger toppings like shredded cheese or onions based on your preference.
  • House sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 3 days.
