Ingredients
Chicken Wings
- 2 lbs chicken wings
Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Sauce
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken wings in a large bowl, ensuring they are spread out to make seasoning easier.
- Season the Wings: Sprinkle smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper over the wings. Toss thoroughly until all wings are evenly coated with the seasoning blend.
- Bake the Wings: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the seasoned wings on a baking sheet in a single layer with some space between each piece for even cooking. Bake for 20 minutes.
- Apply BBQ Sauce and Increase Heat: Remove the wings from the oven and generously brush both sides with BBQ sauce. Increase the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C) to help the sauce caramelize and return the wings to the oven. Bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized.
- Serve: Take the wings out of the oven once cooked through and caramelized. Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, pat the wings dry before seasoning.
- You can use your favorite BBQ sauce, sweet or spicy, depending on your taste preference.
- Turn wings halfway during the initial baking to ensure even cooking.
- Adjust chili flakes for desired heat level.
- Leftover wings can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven for best results.
