Description

These Thick and Chewy Triple Chocolate Emergency Cookies are the ultimate chocolate indulgence, featuring milk chocolate chips, bittersweet chocolate chunks, and semi-sweet chips with a perfect chewy texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup bittersweet chocolate chunks
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the milk chocolate chips, bittersweet chocolate chunks, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and pecans if using.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 30 minutes if it feels too soft to prevent spreading.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature.
  • Freeze baked cookies for up to 3 months for longer storage.
  • Try topping with a sprinkle of sea salt for a sweet and salty twist.
