Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup pizza sauce or tomato sauce with Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 slices American cheese
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup dry milk powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp instant dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, dry milk powder, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm water and oil, then mix until a dough forms.
- Knead dough until smooth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- While dough rests, cook ground beef and onions in a skillet until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Roll out dough and press into a greased sheet pan.
- Spread pizza sauce over the dough.
- Evenly distribute the meat mixture on top.
- Layer with American cheese slices, then top with shredded mozzarella.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is golden.
- Let cool slightly before slicing into rectangles.
