Ingredients
Base
- 1 package Stonefire Naan Flatbreads (2 come in a pack)
- Olive oil, for brushing
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
Toppings
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 pound cooked Italian sausage
- 3/4 to 1 cup ricotta cheese
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
Drizzle
- 2 tablespoons honey
- A few dashes of your favorite hot sauce
Optional Garnish
- Basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the flatbreads: Place the Stonefire naan flatbreads on a baking sheet. Lightly brush each flatbread with olive oil, then spread 1/2 cup of pizza sauce evenly over the top of the flatbreads.
- Add cheese and sausage: Sprinkle 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce-covered flatbreads. Then, distribute the cooked Italian sausage over the cheese. Dollop spoonfuls of ricotta cheese (about 3/4 to 1 cup total) on top of the sausage and cheese layer. Season the pizzas with kosher salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes to taste.
- Bake the pizzas: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the prepared flatbreads on the baking sheet in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the naan are crisp and golden. Alternatively, you may grill the pizzas on a pellet grill or Traeger set to 375°F by placing the flatbreads directly on the grill grates for the same amount of time.
- Prepare the honey hot sauce drizzle: While the pizzas are baking, combine 2 tablespoons of honey with a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce in a small bowl and mix well.
- Finish and garnish: Remove the pizzas from the oven or grill once cooked. Drizzle the honey hot sauce mixture evenly over the top of each pizza. If desired, sprinkle fresh basil leaves over the pizzas for a flavorful and colorful garnish. Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use any cooked sausage of your choice, such as spicy Italian or sweet Italian sausage.
- If you prefer less spice, adjust the crushed red pepper flakes and hot sauce according to your heat tolerance.
- Fresh basil adds a nice fresh flavor but can be omitted if unavailable.
- Stonefire naan flatbreads make the pizza base easy and quick, but you can substitute with any similar flatbread.
- For a crispier crust, you can preheat the baking sheet before placing the flatbreads on it.
