Description

This refreshing Peach Sweet Tea is a perfect blend of classic sweet tea infused with natural peach flavor. Made with real peaches and a combination of sugar and honey for sweetness, this iced tea balances fruity freshness with the rich aroma of black tea. Ideal for warm days, it serves chilled with frozen peach slices for a delightful cooling effect.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 family-size black tea bag (or 3 regular-size black tea bags)

Sweeteners

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup honey

Peach Puree

  • 2 cups frozen peaches, thawed and pureed (or 2 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced)

For Serving

  • 2 cups frozen peaches, do not thaw (if using fresh peaches, slice them, lay on a parchment-lined pan, and freeze until ready to serve)

Additional Liquid

  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Once boiling, remove from heat and steep the tea bag(s) in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the tea to become strong and flavorful.
  2. Sweeten the Tea: While the tea is still hot, add ¾ cup sugar and ¾ cup honey. Stir thoroughly until both the sugar and honey dissolve completely into the tea.
  3. Blend the Peaches: In a blender or food processor, puree 2 cups of thawed frozen peaches or fresh peeled and sliced peaches until smooth. This provides the fresh peach flavor to the tea.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Pour the pureed peaches and 1 cup of water into the sweetened tea. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly, enhancing both flavor and texture.
  5. Chill the Tea: Transfer the mixture to a large pitcher and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, ideally for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Serve with Frozen Peaches: When ready to serve, add the 2 cups of frozen peaches directly into the pitcher or individual glasses. These act as natural ice cubes to keep the tea cold without diluting its flavor.

Notes

  • Using frozen peaches for serving keeps the tea chilled longer without watering it down.
  • If fresh peaches are used, make sure to freeze the slices prior to serving for best results.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar and honey according to taste.
  • For a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea bags longer or use more tea bags.
  • This tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days but is best consumed fresh.
