Description

Neiman Marcus Cake is a decadent dessert made with yellow cake mix, cream cheese, and powdered sugar, creating a rich, chewy base topped with a luscious, sweet layer. Perfect for potlucks, holidays, and indulgent treats!

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs (divided)
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, 1 egg, and melted butter until combined. Press evenly into the prepared dish.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add 2 eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until creamy.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust layer.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until edges are golden brown and the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  6. Let cool completely before slicing into squares or bars.

Notes

  • Use chocolate, red velvet, or spice cake mix for flavor variations.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Drizzle caramel sauce over cooled bars for extra sweetness.
  • Substitute almond extract for vanilla for a different aroma.
  • Store at room temperature for 2–3 days or refrigerate up to 1 week. Freeze up to 2 months if needed.
