Description

A bold twist on a classic, Mississippi Sloppy Joes on Garlic Bread combines tangy, flavorful beef with buttery garlic bread and melty cheese for a hearty, comforting sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup pepperoncini peppers, chopped
  • 1 tbsp pepperoncini juice
  • 6 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 loaf French bread or 6 slices Texas toast
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Drain excess fat and stir in garlic powder, onion powder, ranch seasoning, and au jus mix.
  3. Add chopped pepperoncini peppers and juice, simmer until well combined and heated through.
  4. Mix softened butter with minced garlic and spread over bread slices or toast.
  5. Toast the bread in the oven until golden and crispy.
  6. Spoon beef mixture onto the garlic bread and top with cheese slices.
  7. Return to oven just long enough to melt the cheese.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve.

Notes

  • Use leftover Mississippi pot roast for a richer flavor.
  • Add more pepperoncini or hot sauce for extra spice.
  • Use ground turkey and reduced-fat cheese for a lighter version.
  • Try with hoagie rolls or ciabatta buns for variation.
  • Mix shredded cheese into the meat for extra cheesiness.
