Description
Louisiana Voodoo Fries are a spicy, cheesy twist on classic fries, topped with Cajun seasoning, creamy ranch dressing, and rich cheddar cheese sauce. Inspired by Wingstop’s popular version, they’re perfect as a snack, side, or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 4 russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Wash, peel, and cut the potatoes into thick fry shapes.
- Steam the cut fries over boiling water for 10–12 minutes until tender.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Toss steamed fries with olive oil and spread on a baking sheet.
- Bake fries for 15–20 minutes, flipping once, until crispy and golden.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour to form a roux, then gradually add milk.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted into a creamy sauce.
- Once fries are done, sprinkle with Cajun seasoning, drizzle ranch dressing, and pour on cheese sauce.
- Serve with extra cheese sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Use frozen French fries for convenience.
- Add extra cayenne or crushed red pepper for more heat.
- Try pepper jack cheese for a spicier cheese sauce.
- Top with green onions for a loaded version.
