Description

Louisiana Voodoo Fries are a spicy, cheesy twist on classic fries, topped with Cajun seasoning, creamy ranch dressing, and rich cheddar cheese sauce. Inspired by Wingstop’s popular version, they’re perfect as a snack, side, or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 4 russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel, and cut the potatoes into thick fry shapes.
  2. Steam the cut fries over boiling water for 10–12 minutes until tender.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Toss steamed fries with olive oil and spread on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake fries for 15–20 minutes, flipping once, until crispy and golden.
  5. Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour to form a roux, then gradually add milk.
  6. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted into a creamy sauce.
  7. Once fries are done, sprinkle with Cajun seasoning, drizzle ranch dressing, and pour on cheese sauce.
  8. Serve with extra cheese sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Use frozen French fries for convenience.
  • Add extra cayenne or crushed red pepper for more heat.
  • Try pepper jack cheese for a spicier cheese sauce.
  • Top with green onions  for a loaded version.
