Description
A tender, golden chicken dish simmered in a bright lemon-garlic sauce with herbs, honey, and olive oil. Perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken on both sides until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add chicken broth, lemon juice, lemon zest, and honey. Stir to combine.
- Return chicken to skillet and simmer in the sauce until cooked through (internal temperature 165°F/74°C).
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and garnish with lemon slices before serving.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for extra juiciness.
- Add a splash of white wine for richer flavor.
- Mix in capers or olives for a Mediterranean twist.
- Stir in cream for a creamy lemon chicken version.
- Serve with rice, pasta, or roasted potatoes to soak up the sauce.
- Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months.
