Description
A warm, creamy, cheesy seafood dip inspired by Joe’s Crab Shack, combining sweet lump crab meat with cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, and mozzarella, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- ¼ tsp seasoned salt
- ⅛ tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp finely diced onion
- 2 tbsp finely diced green bell pepper
- ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 oz lump crab meat, drained and picked over
- Optional garnishes: chopped green onions, parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C) and lightly grease a small baking dish.
- Beat together cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and butter until smooth.
- Mix in seasoned salt and paprika for flavoring.
- Gently fold in onion, bell pepper, cheese, and crab meat—be careful not to mash the crab.
- Transfer mixture to your baking dish and bake until bubbly, about 10–15 minutes.
- Remove and garnish with green onions or parsley, then serve with crackers, tortilla chips, or toasted bread.
Notes
- Use lump crab meat for best flavor and texture, but canned or imitation crab can be substituted.
- Assemble ahead of time and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
- Not recommended for freezing due to dairy content.
- Optional flavor additions include Old Bay, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, or cayenne pepper.
