Description

A delicious skillet meal combining tender steak and succulent shrimp in a rich honey garlic sauce, served over vibrant yellow rice.

Ingredients

  • steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank, sliced into strips)
  • large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • honey
  • soy sauce
  • garlic cloves, minced
  • butter or oil for cooking
  • yellow rice (store‑bought mix or homemade)
  • salt & pepper
  • optional garnish: chopped parsley or green onions

Instructions

  1. Season the steak strips generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high, add oil or butter, and sear the steak until browned but still slightly pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in honey and soy sauce, simmering until it thickens into a glossy sauce.
  5. Return the steak to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Add shrimp and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2–3 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, prepare the yellow rice according to package instructions or your homemade method.
  7. Plate the rice, top with steak and shrimp, and spoon extra sauce over it. Garnish with parsley or green onions.

Notes

  • Swap shrimp for scallops or chicken for a different protein.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Stir in steamed vegetables like broccoli, snap peas, or bell peppers for added nutrition.
  • Use lime juice to brighten the flavor profile.
  • Swap honey for maple syrup or agave if needed.
