Description

A delightful twist on a classic, this Honey Banana Grilled Cheese Sandwich combines melty cheese, sweet banana slices, and rich honey between crispy grilled bread slices.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough or whole wheat recommended)
  • 1 ripe but firm banana, sliced
  • 2 slices of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or brie)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for grilling)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Slice the banana into thin rounds.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer cheese and banana slices.
  5. Drizzle honey over the banana, then top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  6. Place the sandwich on the skillet and grill for about 3-4 minutes per side, pressing slightly with a spatula.
  7. Once golden brown and cheese is melted, remove from skillet, rest for a minute, then slice and serve.
