Description

A crispy, garlicky, and cheesy flatbread with a light and airy interior, perfect as a side dish or snack. This homemade garlic Parmesan focaccia is easy to make and delivers gourmet flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups bread flour (or all-purpose)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/8 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Olive oil (for dough and pan)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Maldon or flaked sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Mix in warm water until a dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  4. Drizzle oil in an 8″ round pan and place the dough inside, tucking the edges under.
  5. Cover and let rise for 2 hours until dough puffs and fills the pan.
  6. Preheat oven to 450°F. Press dimples in the dough, drizzle with more olive oil, and sprinkle garlic, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning on top.
  7. Reduce oven temperature to 425°F and bake for 22–24 minutes until golden.
  8. Let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use bread flour for best texture, but all-purpose flour also works well.
  • For a stronger garlic flavor, use fresh minced garlic in the topping.
  • Can be stored at room temperature for 4–5 days, wrapped.
  • To reheat, microwave under a damp towel or use a toaster oven.
  • Focaccia can be frozen and reheated directly from the freezer.
