Description

These Egg Oreo Cookie Balls are a fun and festive no-bake treat perfect for Easter or any celebration. Made by combining crushed Golden Oreos with cream cheese, shaping them into egg forms, dipping in melted white candy coating, and decorating with colorful icing, these sweet bites are creamy, crunchy, and visually delightful.

Ingredients

Cookie Mixture

  • 14.3 oz package (36 cookies) Golden Oreos, crushed into crumbs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature

Coating and Decoration

  • 10 oz white candy coating
  • Additional 1 oz white candy coating per color, for decorating
  • Gel icing colors (various colors as desired)

Instructions

  1. Crush Cookies: Add the Golden Oreo cookies to a food processor or blender and crush them into fine crumbs to create the base of the cookie balls.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: In a bowl, combine the crushed cookie crumbs with the room temperature cream cheese. Mix well until the mixture is uniform and can be shaped into balls easily.
  3. Shape the Eggs: Using about 1 1/2 tablespoons of the mixture per egg, form egg-shaped balls with your hands, ensuring they are compact and smooth.
  4. Chill the Eggs: Place the formed eggs in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to firm up and hold their shape better for dipping.
  5. Coat with Candy Coating: Melt the 10 ounces of white candy coating. Using a toothpick inserted into the bottom of each chilled egg, dip them into the melted coating, gently shaking off excess. Place on parchment paper to dry, then fill the toothpick hole with a dab of melted candy coating.
  6. Decorate: Melt additional white candy coating in amounts of about 1 ounce per color needed. Add gel icing colors to create various shades. Use piping or drizzling techniques to decorate the coated eggs. Use as many colors as desired for fun designs.
  7. Store: Place the decorated Oreo eggs in the refrigerator. They can be stored for up to one week to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • Use parchment paper or wax paper when drying dipped eggs to prevent sticking.
  • For easier dipping, keep the candy coating warm but not too hot as to melt the cookie balls.
  • You can customize decorations using any gel colors or edible decorations of choice.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for best freshness up to 7 days.
