Description

This Easy Beef Brown Gravy is rich, savory, and simple to make in under 15 minutes, perfect for mashed potatoes, meatloaf, or any dish needing hearty flavor.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth (or stock)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
  3. Slowly pour in the beef broth while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  4. Add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Optionally, stir in Worcestershire or soy sauce.
  5. Bring to a simmer and stir until thickened, about 5–7 minutes.
  6. Once thick and smooth, remove from heat and serve.
