Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth (or stock)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce
Instructions
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
- Slowly pour in the beef broth while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Optionally, stir in Worcestershire or soy sauce.
- Bring to a simmer and stir until thickened, about 5–7 minutes.
- Once thick and smooth, remove from heat and serve.
