Description
DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookies are the signature treat from DoubleTree hotels, known for their chewy centers, crispy edges, and flavorful mix of oats, chocolate chips, and walnuts with a hint of lemon and cinnamon.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 2/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 3/4 cups chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon juice; beat on medium-high speed for another 2 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts by hand.
- Scoop about 3 tablespoons of dough per cookie onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them well apart.
- Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 20–23 minutes, until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.
- Cool cookies on the baking sheet for about an hour before serving.
Notes
- Chilling the dough before baking can enhance the flavor and texture.
- You can omit walnuts for a nut-free version.
- For extra richness, use a mix of semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips.
- Pulsing oats in a food processor gives a smoother texture.
- Store in an airtight container to keep cookies soft.
