Description

DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookies are the signature treat from DoubleTree hotels, known for their chewy centers, crispy edges, and flavorful mix of oats, chocolate chips, and walnuts with a hint of lemon and cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 2/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 3/4 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  2. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon juice; beat on medium-high speed for another 2 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts by hand.
  6. Scoop about 3 tablespoons of dough per cookie onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them well apart.
  7. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 20–23 minutes, until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.
  8. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for about an hour before serving.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough before baking can enhance the flavor and texture.
  • You can omit walnuts for a nut-free version.
  • For extra richness, use a mix of semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips.
  • Pulsing oats in a food processor gives a smoother texture.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep cookies soft.
