A fast and flavorful dish, Garlic Butter Shrimp combines tender shrimp with rich butter and fragrant garlic. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a classy appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Squeeze in lemon juice and toss shrimp to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes, if using. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use thawed, dry shrimp for best sear and flavor absorption.
- Don’t overcook shrimp to avoid a rubbery texture.
- Enhance sauce with a splash of white wine or pasta water for serving with pasta.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat gently in a skillet.
