This decadent Brownie Batter Dip is a rich and chocolatey treat perfect for dipping your favorite cookies, crackers, and fruits. Made with a boxed fudge brownie mix, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and mini chocolate chips, it’s an easy-to-make appetizer or dessert dip that combines smooth creaminess with intense chocolate flavor.
Ingredients
Base Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 box fudge brownie mix
- ¼ to ½ cup milk
Mix-ins and Toppings
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips, plus more for topping
Instructions
- Heat Treat the Brownie Mix: Preheat your oven to 350° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the brownie mix evenly on the baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes to heat treat the mix for safety. Alternatively, place the brownie mix in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high for 1½ minutes, stirring every 20 seconds.
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring no lumps remain.
- Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese and butter mixture and blend until fully combined and smooth.
- Incorporate Brownie Mix and Milk: Add the heat-treated brownie mix along with ¼ cup milk to the bowl. Beat all together thoroughly for a well-combined dip. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk, a tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired dip consistency.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently stir in the mini chocolate chips to distribute them evenly throughout the dip.
- Serve and Garnish: Transfer the dip into a serving dish and top with additional mini chocolate chips if desired. Serve immediately with dippable items like fresh fruit, cookies, or crackers.
Notes
- Do NOT skip heat treating the brownie mix for safety reasons.
- Dip fresh fruits such as strawberries, apple slices, or pineapple, or use graham crackers, pretzels, vanilla wafers, or animal crackers for dipping.
- For a lighter option, use low-fat cream cheese and/or milk.
- Use heavy cream instead of milk for a richer flavor and creamier texture.
- Customize your dip by adding mini M&M’s, Reese’s pieces, toffee bits, coconut flakes, or chopped nuts for extra texture and taste.
