Description

A hearty and flavorful sandwich that combines crispy fried chicken cutlets with creamy Caesar dressing and fresh romaine lettuce, all inside a crusty French baguette.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 5 boneless, skinless chicken cutlets
  • 1 French baguette, sliced into 5 portions
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko crumbs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (for breading)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, sea salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese until smooth. Toss 4–5 tbsp of this dressing with chopped romaine and refrigerate both components.
  2. Pound chicken cutlets to even thickness if needed and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Set up a dredging station with three shallow plates: one with flour, smoked paprika, and salt; one with whisked eggs and salt; and one with panko, breadcrumbs, parsley, pepper, oregano, garlic powder, and Parmesan.
  4. Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, ensuring full coating.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side. Drain on a wire rack.
  6. Slice baguette portions lengthwise. Spread Caesar dressing on the bottom, add crispy chicken, top with Caesar salad and extra Parmesan, then close and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use crusty bread to prevent sogginess.
  • Adjust dressing tanginess with more or less lemon juice to taste.
  • To save time, prepare the dressing and breading station in advance.
  • Chicken can be air-fried or baked for a lighter option.
