Description

These crispy air fryer apple fries are a sweet, cinnamon-sugar snack that’s quick, easy, and totally irresistible. Air-fried to golden perfection with a soft inside and crunchy outside, they’re the perfect healthy treat or dessert dipper.

Ingredients

  • 2 firm apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), sliced into sticks
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs or crushed graham crackers
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray or neutral oil (for air frying)
  • Optional for serving: caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt

Instructions

  1. Peel (optional) and slice apples into ½-inch sticks.
  2. Set up three bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and a mix of panko, sugar, and cinnamon in the third.
  3. Coat each apple stick in flour, then egg, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar breadcrumb mix.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and spray the basket with oil.
  5. Place coated apples in a single layer in the basket, spray tops with oil.
  6. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  7. Serve warm with caramel, yogurt, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a pie-like twist, use crushed graham crackers instead of panko.
  • Nutmeg or apple pie spice adds cozy depth.
  • Best eaten fresh, but reheat in the air fryer for 3–5 minutes if needed.
  • Make them gluten-free by using GF flour and breadcrumbs.
