Description

This Creamy Garlic Chicken features tender, golden-seared chicken breasts in a velvety garlic-Parmesan sauce with caramelized whole garlic cloves for a subtly sweet, gourmet flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 beef bouillon cube (or 1 teaspoon Better Than Bouillon)
  • 1 teaspoon low-sodium soy sauce (or Worcestershire sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 10 whole garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice each chicken breast into 2-3 thinner pieces. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Combine flour and shredded Parmesan in a shallow dish. Dredge each chicken piece and shake off excess.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden. Set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic cloves and cook for 6-7 minutes until softened and golden.
  5. Sprinkle flour over garlic and butter, whisk to combine, and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Gradually add chicken broth, bouillon, soy sauce, onion powder, thyme, and mustard powder, stirring continuously.
  7. Add heavy cream, bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  8. Stir in grated Parmesan until melted. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over top.
  9. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes to heat through. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Use fresh herbs for a brighter flavor variation.
  • Substitute half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
  • This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, pasta, or crusty bread.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated gently on the stove or in the oven.
