Description
A quick and flavorful pasta dish combining smoky sausage, creamy sauce, and bold Cajun seasoning. Ready in under 20 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced (preferably jalapeño cheddar sausage)
- 12 oz pasta (such as rotini)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium skillet over medium heat, sauté the sausage slices for 5–8 minutes until golden brown.
- Pour in the heavy cream and add Cajun seasoning. Stir to combine.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 4 minutes to slightly thicken the sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat thoroughly.
Notes
- Use a milder Cajun seasoning or reduce the amount to make it less spicy.
- Rotini, penne, fettuccine, or any pasta works well.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half or a milk and butter combo instead of heavy cream.
- Enhance the dish with sautéed bell peppers, onions, chicken, or shrimp.
