Description

A quick and flavorful pasta dish combining smoky sausage, creamy sauce, and bold Cajun seasoning. Ready in under 20 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced (preferably jalapeño cheddar sausage)
  • 12 oz pasta (such as rotini)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, sauté the sausage slices for 5–8 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and add Cajun seasoning. Stir to combine.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 4 minutes to slightly thicken the sauce.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat thoroughly.

Notes

  • Use a milder Cajun seasoning or reduce the amount to make it less spicy.
  • Rotini, penne, fettuccine, or any pasta works well.
  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half or a milk and butter combo instead of heavy cream.
  • Enhance the dish with sautéed bell peppers, onions, chicken, or shrimp.
