Description

These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups are a delectable fusion of cinnamon rolls and French toast, offering a crispy golden exterior and a warm, gooey cinnamon-sugar interior. Perfect for cozy mornings, this recipe is easily customizable, making it a great option for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

  • For the Roll-Ups:
  • 10 slices white sandwich bread
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • For the French Toast Coating:
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For Cooking:
  • 23 tablespoons butter for frying

Instructions

  1. Remove the crusts from the bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon together.
  3. Spread the cinnamon mixture evenly over each bread slice, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Roll up each slice tightly and press the edges to seal them.
  5. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
  7. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture and place it seam-side down in the skillet.
  8. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freezing: Freeze cooked roll-ups on a baking sheet, then store in a freezer bag for up to 1 month. Reheat in a skillet or bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
  • Variations: Try adding sweetened cream cheese, fruit (like bananas or strawberries), Nutella, or a glaze topping for extra flavor.
