Description
These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bites combine gooey cinnamon rolls with the custardy texture of French toast—perfect for brunch or a sweet breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- 1 (12 oz) tube canned cinnamon rolls
- 3 large eggs
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup maple syrup
- Optional: chopped pecans or walnuts
- Icing from the cinnamon roll package
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
- Grease an 11½″‑long glass baking dish with butter.
- Chop each cinnamon roll into about 6 bite‑sized pieces and spread evenly in the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour custard over the roll pieces, stirring gently to coat each piece.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
- Drizzle maple syrup over the coated rolls.
- Bake about 20 minutes, until golden and set.
- Heat the included icing until pourable and drizzle over hot bites.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, microwave for 20 seconds or bake at 350 °F for 5–7 minutes.
- Make ahead by assembling and refrigerating overnight before baking.
- Can be frozen and reheated after thawing overnight in the fridge.
- Try adding chocolate chips or using caramel sauce instead of maple syrup.
