Description

Delight in these Churro Cheesecake Bars, a perfect blend of cinnamon-sugar churros and creamy cheesecake layered between flaky crescent roll dough. These bars bake to golden perfection, offering a sweet, gooey dessert with a crispy cinnamon crust that’s easy to prepare and sure to impress.

Ingredients

Cinnamon Sugar Mix

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon

Cheesecake Filling

  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dough

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Mix: In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon. Set this mixture aside to use as a flavorful coating for the churro bars.
  2. Make the Cheesecake Filling: Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth using a mixer. Add 1/2 cup sugar, the egg, and vanilla extract. Continue beating until the mixture is creamy and well combined. Set aside.
  3. Prepare Pan and Bottom Layer: Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with non-stick spray. Evenly sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the bottom of the pan to create a sweet, crunchy base.
  4. Shape Bottom Dough Layer: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough onto a lightly floured piece of waxed paper. Press all seam lines together to form one solid sheet. Carefully lift this dough sheet into the cinnamon sugar-coated pan, pressing it to cover the bottom and edges evenly.
  5. Spread Cheesecake Layer: Spread the prepared cream cheese filling evenly over the bottom dough layer, ensuring a smooth, uniform layer of cheesecake flavor.
  6. Prepare Top Dough Layer: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and press seams together similarly to form a sheet. Place this top dough layer gently over the cheesecake filling, covering it completely.
  7. Top with Remaining Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle the remaining half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top dough layer for a sweet, crunchy finish.
  8. Bake the Bars: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the assembled bars for approximately 30 minutes or until the top is lightly browned and the filling is set and bubbly.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to room temperature for smoother mixing.
  • Press seam lines firmly while rolling out the dough to prevent bubbling during baking.
  • Allow bars to cool slightly before cutting for cleaner slices.
  • Optional: Serve with a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce for extra indulgence.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
