Description

Indulge in a rich and naturally sweetened Chocolate Date Latte, made with non-dairy milk, cacao powder, and dates for a comforting and healthy twist on the classic latte. This warm beverage is enhanced with cinnamon and vanilla, simmered to perfection, then blended into a smooth, velvety drink that’s perfect on its own, over ice, or poured over your favorite coffee.

Ingredients

Liquid Base

  • 1 1/2 cup non-dairy milk

Flavorings

  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 dates, pitted
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder or 1-2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the non-dairy milk, cacao powder, pitted dates, cinnamon (either 1/2 tsp powder or 1-2 sticks), and vanilla extract to a pot.
  2. Simmer: Bring the mixture to a low boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the dates to soften.
  3. Blend: Remove the cinnamon sticks if used. Carefully transfer the hot mixture into a blender, ensuring the lid is secure to prevent steam from escaping. Blend until smooth and frothy.
  4. Serve: Pour the chocolate date latte into a cup and enjoy immediately, or pour it over ice or coffee for a chilled or caffeinated variation.

Notes

  • Use soft Medjool dates for natural sweetness and easier blending.
  • Non-dairy milk options like almond, oat, or soy milk work best for creaminess.
  • Adjust the amount of cacao powder and dates based on your preferred sweetness and chocolate intensity.
  • Ensure blender lid is secure to avoid steam burns when blending hot liquids.
  • For a vegan latte, verify that your vanilla extract is alcohol-free and plant-based.
  • Can be chilled and stored refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat gently before serving.
