Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with chopped onion, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
- Place pie crust in a pie dish and spread cooked beef evenly over it.
- Spoon the mayo-sour cream mixture over the meat, spreading evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly with a golden top.
- Let sit for a few minutes before slicing to help it set.
Notes
- Add chopped pickles for variation.
- Use diced jalapeños or pepper jack cheese for a spicier version.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter pie.
- Pre-bake the crust for 5-7 minutes to avoid sogginess.
- Can be made crustless for a low-carb casserole option.
