Description
Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are a crispy, golden twist on a classic American favorite, combining seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and pickles wrapped in a crunchy egg roll shell. Perfect as an appetizer or game-day snack.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup American or cheddar cheese, chopped or shredded
- 1/2 cup dill pickles, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- 1 egg, beaten (for sealing wrappers)
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onions and garlic to the pan; cook until softened and fragrant.
- Stir in chopped pickles, cheese, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Let the cheese melt and the mixture cool slightly.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, place about 2 tablespoons of filling in the center, fold in the sides, and roll tightly, sealing the edge with beaten egg.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches until golden and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauces.
Notes
- Do not overfill the egg rolls to avoid breakage.
- Can be made ahead and frozen for later use.
- Bake instead of frying for a healthier option.
- Use ground turkey or plant-based crumbles for variations.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
