Butter Garlic Chicken Bites are tender, bite-sized pieces of chicken breasts lightly coated in seasoned flour and pan-fried to a golden brown. Tossed in a savory mixture of melted butter, fresh garlic, and parsley, this quick and flavorful dish is perfect for a fast weeknight dinner or an easy appetizer, ready in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp onion powder
For the Butter Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 4 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken Coat: In a large 1-gallon freezer bag, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and onion powder. Close the bag and shake well to mix the dry ingredients evenly. Add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the bag and shake again until all the chicken is evenly coated with the seasoning and flour mixture. Set aside.
- Make the Butter Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley until thoroughly combined. Set this sauce aside to be used later.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the skillet, making sure to leave space between them to allow even cooking. Cook each side for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, turning the pieces over gently.
- Add the Butter Garlic Sauce: Once the chicken is cooked and golden, pour the prepared butter garlic mixture over the chicken in the skillet. Continue to cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring or tossing to coat the chicken evenly with the sauce and let the flavors meld.
- Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and serve the butter garlic chicken bites immediately while hot. They pair wonderfully with your favorite vegetables or a side salad for a complete meal.
Notes
- For crispier chicken, ensure the skillet is hot before adding the chicken pieces and do not overcrowd the pan.
- You can substitute Italian seasoning with dried herbs like oregano and basil if needed.
- Adjust garlic quantity according to your taste preference; for a milder flavor, reduce to 2 teaspoons.
- These chicken bites can be served as an appetizer or main dish.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet for best texture.
