Description
Banana Bread Brownies are the perfect fusion of two classic favorites—moist banana bread and rich, fudgy brownies. These treats are comforting, easy to make, and always a hit.
Ingredients
- Ripe bananas, mashed
- Granulated sugar
- Brown sugar
- Unsalted butter, melted
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- All-purpose flour
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Cocoa powder (for the brownie swirl or batter)
- Chocolate chips or chunks (optional, for added richness)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a baking dish.
- Mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Mix in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients.
- If making a swirl, divide part of the batter and mix it with cocoa powder to create the brownie portion.
- Pour the banana batter into the pan, swirl in the brownie mixture (or mix all together if preferred), and sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Let it cool before slicing into bars.
Notes
- This recipe yields 12 to 16 brownies, depending on slice size.
- If you prefer a deeper chocolate flavor, swirl in chocolate brownie batter.
- You can mix chocolate chips into the batter for extra texture.
- Add walnuts or pecans for a crunchy contrast.
- A drizzle of cream cheese frosting on top makes them even more indulgent.
