Description

Banana Bread Brownies are the perfect fusion of two classic favorites—moist banana bread and rich, fudgy brownies. These treats are comforting, easy to make, and always a hit.

Ingredients

  • Ripe bananas, mashed
  • Granulated sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Unsalted butter, melted
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Cocoa powder (for the brownie swirl or batter)
  • Chocolate chips or chunks (optional, for added richness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a baking dish.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Mix in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients.
  6. If making a swirl, divide part of the batter and mix it with cocoa powder to create the brownie portion.
  7. Pour the banana batter into the pan, swirl in the brownie mixture (or mix all together if preferred), and sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let it cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • This recipe yields 12 to 16 brownies, depending on slice size.
  • If you prefer a deeper chocolate flavor, swirl in chocolate brownie batter.
  • You can mix chocolate chips into the batter for extra texture.
  • Add walnuts or pecans for a crunchy contrast.
  • A drizzle of cream cheese frosting on top makes them even more indulgent.
