Perfect for cozy nights or family gatherings, this easy recipe is naturally gluten-free and can be made vegan or with a variety of nuts. The combination of warm pears, walnuts, and cinnamon makes it an irresistible treat year-round.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the pears in half and remove the core and seeds.
  3. Place the pear halves in a baking dish, cut side up.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine oats, walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and butter. Mix well.
  5. Spoon the oat mixture onto each pear half and press it down gently.
  6. Add a drop of vanilla extract to each pear for extra flavor.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until pears are tender and the crumble is golden.
  8. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

  • Variations:
  • Swap walnuts with pecans, almonds, or hazelnuts.
  • Add dried fruits such as cranberries or raisins for added sweetness.
  • Use gluten-free oats for a gluten-free version.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes or microwave for 1-2 minutes.
  • Vegan Option: Use coconut oil or vegan butter instead of regular butter, and replace brown sugar with maple syrup or coconut sugar.
