Description

This baked beans and ground beef casserole is a hearty, savory-sweet comfort food classic. Made with ground beef, smoky baked beans, barbecue sauce, and brown sugar, it’s the perfect one-dish meal for busy weeknights, family dinners, or potlucks. Easy, filling, and packed with flavor!

Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Onion, diced
  • Canned baked beans
  • Barbecue sauce

  • Brown sugar
  • Mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Optional toppings: chopped green onions or shredded cheddar cheese.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess grease.
  • Stir in baked beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Transfer mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  • Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  • Garnish with green onions if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Try using ground turkey or sausage for variation.
  • Add corn or cooked rice to stretch the dish.
  • Make it spicy with jalapeños or hot sauce.
  • Pairs well with cornbread or a crisp green salad.
  • Freezes well for up to 2 months.
