Description

A moist and spiced applesauce bread with a subtle apple flavor and warm spices, perfect for breakfast, a snack, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups applesauce
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs, and milk. Beat well until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Sift in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
