Description

This Spicy Honey Mustard Sauce is a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors, combining Dijon and yellow mustards with honey, mayonnaise, and a kick of hot sauce. It’s a versatile condiment ideal for dipping, spreading, or drizzling over your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

Sauce Base:

  • 60 ml Dijon mustard
  • 60 ml yellow mustard
  • 60 ml honey
  • 30 ml mayonnaise

Seasonings:

  • 510 ml hot sauce (such as Tabasco or sriracha)
  • 0.5 ml cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 5 ml apple cider vinegar (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, honey, mayonnaise, hot sauce, optional cayenne pepper, apple cider vinegar if using, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Adjust Flavor: Taste the sauce and adjust the flavor by adding more honey if you prefer it sweeter or additional hot sauce for more heat, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  3. Refrigerate: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and develop their full depth before serving.

Notes

  • For a milder sauce, reduce or omit the cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
  • The mayonnaise adds creaminess but can be omitted for a lighter version.
  • Use apple cider vinegar to add brightness and tanginess if desired.
  • This sauce keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Great as a dip for chicken tenders, a spread on sandwiches, or a drizzle for salads and roasted vegetables.
